Personal Statement
I am a recently licensed massage therapist and am enthusiastic about my new career because I believe in massage and its power to rejuvenate the body and mind. I am confident that taking care of our bodies is essential to our own happiness because it enables us to function at our best: we are better able to meet the needs of our loved ones and face challenges. Simple things such as regular and adequate sleep, good nutrition, and proper body mechanics should not be overlooked as they can have a profound effect on our bodies. This is also the case with massage therapy- it can bring vitality back into a body broken by stress, play an important role in the rehabilitation of injury and can impart a feeling of well being.

Students in particular can benefit from regular massage treatments as they typically carry heavy back packs, spend long hours at desks or working on computers, and have the continual stress of deadlines to meet - all of which can contribute to muscle tension and discomfort.I am happy to be a part of a team that provides for convenient access to a healthy lifestyle and massage therapy at University Recreation Center.
