Weekly Themes
-
Week 1: Fitness Through the Decades (June 20-23)
Move your way through the decades with this fun-filled week of fitness. The week’s activities will consist of a variety of cross training, sports conditioning, martial arts, yoga, Zumba, and aquatic sessions. Campers will also work with our personal trainers to get themselves ready to move and groove through the decades in an obstacle course at the end of the week. We will not have camp on Monday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
-
Week 2: Prehistoric Week (June 26-30)
- Rex, velociraptors, and pterodactyls …oh my! In our second week at camp, we are heading outside to partner with WSU Outdoor Programs. We’ll have the opportunity to explore the outdoor world in a fun and safe environment. Campers will learn about Leave No Trace principles, campsite setup, compass and map navigation, and more prehistoric fun. To cap off the week we will take the campers on a hike facilitated by our Outdoor Programs staff.
-
Week 3: Stars, Stripes, and Cougs Week (July 3, 5-7)
Come celebrate our nation’s birthday with us during week three! Though we will not be at camp on Tuesday in observance of the Fourth of July, camp is still going to be jam-packed with our favorite activities. We will spend plenty of time in the pool and at the climbing wall, and will be playing our favorite camp games. We will also welcome our local Firefighters & ROTC for some fun activities.
-
Week 4: Travel Through Space Week (July 10-14)
In our fourth week at camp, our explorers will focus on space travel. Our staff guides will assist us in learning how to communicate and work as a team, navigate conflict, and respect differences in others in some space-filled challenge activities. Explorers will play fun games and participate in problem solving activities while learning life skills for the future.
-
Week 5: Sports History Week (July 17-21)
We’ll be going for Cougar gold during the fifth week of camp! This is the week to show off your skills and discover some new sports as we explore games throughout history. Throughout the week, WSU Sport Clubs will be hosting drills and practices to help campers get to know new sports they may not be familiar with. Be ready to compete in our very own Cougar Kids Camp Games at the end of the week for your chance to taste Cougar Gold.
-
Week 6: Treasure Island Week (July 24-28)
In our final week of camp, we’ll be making a splash! We will go on a journey through time and space (and the pool) with themed activities including treasure hunts, boat races, and many other activities!
